This project transformed a typically utilitarian parking garage into an iconic oceanfront landmark with ground-level retail. Vertical sail-like façade elements evoke wind and water, creating movement, light, and a strong sense of place. Sixteen PTFE fiberglass sail canopies wrap the structure, providing durability against Category 4 hurricane winds. The 239,400 SF mixed-use garage provides 662 parking spaces, retail, a welcome center, and lifeguard storage. As the city’s first municipal garage, it anchors a revitalized beach district.
